CPD accreditation: Rounds, journal clubs and small groups
Rounds, journal clubs and small groups are accredited through a self-approval process.
Self-approval is a process through which physician leaders ensure their rounds, journal clubs and small groups meet the established Royal College continuing professional development (CPD) accreditation standards — thereby allowing these activities to be recorded under Section 1 of the Royal College Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program.
The self-approval process
By following these instructions and meeting all the requirements, your rounds, journal clubs or small groups will be accredited under Section 1 of the MOC Program.
Step 1: Review the CPD accreditation standards for rounds, journal clubs or small groups.
Step 2: Complete the self-approval checklist for rounds, journal clubs or small groups.
Step 3: Have the chair of the planning committee complete and sign the self-approval form.
Step 4: Submit both the self-approval checklist and the self-approval form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 5: Await confirmation of accreditation from the Royal College (confirmation is with the planning committee chair).
Please keep a copy of the completed self-approval form and confirmation email for your records.
